Hello Font Fans,
Luchadora, the second Font Fan Club release, is ready for you. You know the drill – you have 30 days to download it for free or purchase a commercial licence starting at 5€.
This design was a tricky one, it looks harmless but has a bunch of angles and shapes that were not easy to tame. It's loosely inspired by wrestling and its poster designs, a world I discovered on a trip to Mexico earlier this year.
After Lavalampe (release #01), I wanted to prove to myself that I could do more than just an "uppercase only style" in the given time frame. Luchadora started out as an all-caps design, but I gradually added lowercase letters – not the usual recipe! The result is a font with a lot of character, including some odd shapes that would probably be smoothed out if published in a different format. But this newsie is dedicated to my experimentation, so let's embrace the quirks for now.
If you are a student or educator, you can use all the FFCs for your projects and teaching materials through the free licence. If you want to use Luchadora for a wrestling-related design – get in touch, I'll give you a free licence as well.
If you would like to support the Fan Club beyond using the fonts, please recommend it to another font fan. I’d also love to see how you use the fonts and feature your designs, please send samples by email to hello@fontfan.club or on Instagram @fontfanclub.
That’s all for now. Until next time,
Tamara
